Artists Statement: “I am captivated by water – I am inspired by it, and it is often an element of my art. Being allowed to create artwork of beautiful tropical landscapes, seascapes, marine life, and rich traditions is an honor. I care deeply about nature and try to capture the feeling of the spirit in the subjects. I am grateful to be able to live in Hawaii.”
About: Artist, Illustrator, and Designer
My passion for drawing, creating art, and designing began at a young age. My parents encouraged my interest in art and instilled a love of learning, nature, and the importance of conservation in me. With my curiosity about our world, the adventures of explorers, the work of inventors and scientists, and predictions about life in the future, it seemed like a natural progression for me to combine these interests into a career.
I attended the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, CT, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Design. My career as an internationally recognized product design consultant and footwear expert spanned more than thirty years. Additionally, I am named as an inventor on 21 U.S. patents. Since retiring from the footwear industry, I am blessed to be able to pursue my love for watercolor painting, pen & ink drawings, and photography full-time.
Hawaii is a special place for me. I live and work in Holualoa, an artist community on the slopes of the Hualalai volcano. I’m inspired every day by the beautiful scenery of Hawaii, the great weather, the marine life, and the aloha spirit of the people. I hope that through my work, you will be too.
