Michele graduated from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning and was employed by the Disney Company as a Walt Disney Imagineer. Here she learned the value of magical thinking on projects such as EPCOT Center, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Tokyo Disneyland and Euro Disney.

She later had her own design firm and concentrated on creating compelling environments for libraries in northern California. She has a graduate degree in Arts & Consciousness with an emphasis in art therapy.

The process of “piecing together” the sum of fractured parts in her mosaics to create the whole has intrigued her not only as an art form but as a therapeutic process for the artist.

Michele Iacobucci’s attraction to mosaic design was influenced by her visit to Barcelona, Spain. She was genuinely inspired by the work of architect, Antoni Gaudi, in his Park Guell masterpiece.

Her medium is glass, broken pottery and even fabric depending on the criteria of the design project. She often uses recycled items as the substrate. Each piece of glass is hand cut using a combination of tesserae, textured and mirrored glass. She often integrates contrasting metal art pieces to accent her mosaics.

Her work can be enjoyed in the garden, lanai or home.
